Norah's First Regular Bath

Up until now we had been giving Norah sponge baths from the kitchen sink. She was getting used to the sponge baths and wasn't crying throughout the entire thing anymore. But now that her cord fell off we can give her a normal bath. So last night she had her first regular bath. Let's just say that she didn't like mommy and daddy very much during the bath. She cryed and screamed the whole time. Although she hates baths now, I have a strange feeling that someday we aren't going to be able to get her out of the tub.

This week our family has been enjoying doing nothing. Memorial Day weekend we went up to the Cabin where Norah and I got to do some relaxing and Seth got to do a lot of fishing. It was nice to get away and also to see some family.

Seth's uncle John Jaeger caught a 43 in. Muskie.

During the week we have been doing some relaxing. Norah had a doctor's appointment on Wednesday. We have a feeling that she hates doctors. She is wide awake and content when the nurse is in the room but as soon as the doctor comes, Norah gets fussy and starts crying. Oh well, not very many people like going to the doctor. She is doing very well. She now weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz. and is 21 1/4 inches long! She is growing and is healthy, parents couldn't ask for much more.

You can see Norah's dimple in this one.

Meeting the Family

This past week and weekend was very busy for us. Not only was Norah baptized, but she also got to meet the Jaegers and the Bergs. All of her grandparents, aunts, and uncles were very excited to meet her and enjoyed spending time cuddling with her. We are so happy that our families were able to come and visit. Seth and I enjoyed the company, even though they weren't here to see us but to see Norah. We were just an added bonus.

Norah's Baptism

We were very blessed on Sunday. Norah became a child of God through Holy Baptism. Seth and I were very excited to have both of our families and friends join us as we celebrated. All of Norah's godparents were able to be there as well, Ben Jaeger, Rachel Berg, and Ben Schramm. We are happy that Norah will have these great Christian role models and mentors throughout her life.

Norah did very well for her first time in church. She was wide awake throughout the entire baptism and not even the water bothered her. She did enjoy playing with the long ribbons on her baptismal gown though. We were also excited that she was able to wear that gown as well. Not only did I wear that gown, but Grandma Berg (my mom) also wore it.

Our First Walk

Thankfully, the weather here in Bloomer is improving. It actually got into the 70s yesterday and today, so we decided to take advantage of it. We took Norah on her first walk yesterday. Although she slept the majority of the walk, while she was alert she was looking around taking everything in. We all had a fun time and are looking foward to going on many more walks throughout the summer.

As this Jaeger family starts a new chapter with the addition of Norah Ann, we are also starting a blog. I know our families will love to look at new pictures and read about how our family in Bloomer is doing. (I know because this blog was requested about a million times!)

On May 10, 2008 at 12:54pm Norah Ann Jaeger was born. Seth and I are so blessed that she was delivered safely. She weighed 7 pounds 11 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. And as you'll see in the pictures, she was born with a full head of dark brown hair. All of her aunts, uncles, grandparents, and great grandparents were so excited to hear about her arrival and are even more excited to meet her.

She will become a Child of God next Sunday, May 18th during our 9:30am service at St. Paul Lutheran, our church in Bloomer. We are also excited because she will be able to meet the majority of her family.
