11 Months Old

Lucy is now 11 months old! She is so much fun. She is crawling all over the house and quickly too. She is standing all by herself for a while now. She'll said up all by herself in the middle of the room. She's attempted one or two little steps but that's all. We think she'll be walking before her birthday.
Lucy is starting to get more teeth. Her four front teeth on the top are all coming in right now. It won't be too long before we have a toothy smile.
Lucy has also said her first word, Dada! Seth came home from work, she saw him, smiled and said, "Dada!" It was so cute. We love this little girl to pieces.

Trick or Treat

This past Sunday we had trick or treating by us. The kids have been excited for weeks. Thankfully the weather was beautiful and we all had a good time.

Silas the spooky spider.

Norah the beautiful butterfly.

China Hutch Face Lift

Our house has a built in china hutch in our dining room. We've wanted to make it look a little nicer ever since we moved in. So this week we did. Here are the before and after pictures.

Norah the Hedgehog

This past Sunday, Norah and her kindergarten class put on the play "The Mitten." It is a Ukrainian folktale about a boy who loses his mitten and a bunch of animals climb inside to keep warm. The whole class did a great job. It was really fun to watch. We're so proud of our little hedgehog.

Grandma Joyce and Papa came to watch the play with us.

All the animals in the bog mitten.

At the end of the busy day, Norah (with her costume still on because she wanted to keep to keep it on) fell asleep while snuggling with Seth. Seth was in heaven.

I took a little video of the class singing their song at the end of their play (sorry the end got cut off).

Pumpkins

Silas and Norah participated in a pumpkin decorating contest at their school. They both had a lot of fun decideing what to make and painting their pumkins.

Silas and his monster.

Norah and Hello Kitty. She won a "Cute Award" and got a ribbon.

Carving pumpkins at home!

Lucy had fun watching untill bedtime.

Norah's scary face, Lucy's butterfly and Silas' monster truck.

The kids had a blast taking them outside and watching them in the dark.

Happy Fall

The temperature is definately getting colder around here. But we have been making the most of it and enjoying the pretty leaves and jumping in them.

The Little Farmer

At the beginning of the month I got to take Silas on his first field trip. His class went to the Little Farmer which is a apple/ pumpkin farm in the area. He had a blast.

He got to pick his own apple and one for me.

We had a hayride through the woods.

The hay ride took us to a pumpkin patch where he got to pick out his own pumpkin. he also found a good one for Lucy.

Afterwards, we got to stay and play.

And of course the best part was getting to enjoy a yummy carmel apple.

WLA Cross Country

Earlier this month Norah got to run in WLA's elementary school cross country meet. It was from kindergarten to 8th grade. (Silas was bummed he couldn't race.) Norah had a lot of fun running with all the kindergartners. She even won a 10th place ribbon! Great job Norah.

Two of Norah's classmates were ran too. Here is a picture with one of her buddies Owen.

1,000 Books Before Kindergarten

Over the past year Norah and Silas have been working on a program with the Fond du Lac Public Library. The goal is to read 1,000 books before they enter kindergarten. For each 100 books read they got to turn in their paper and they got a prize. And they were pretty cool prizes, like books with CDs, and $5 gift cards to places like Target, Shopko and Pick n' Save. Earlier this summer they both completed the program and this past weekend they got to go to a party at the library to celebrate.

After they read a book, each kid got to do a craft.

They also got to meet Browser the dog which was the programs mascot. Norah was excited about it.

Silas was not. He was pretty spooked by the big dog, even after he knew it was just a person in a costume. He was in tears thinking the dog might come over by him. After some comfort from me telling him that he didn't have to go by the dog and it wasn't going to come by him, he calmed down and enjoyed the special cake.

After cake, each kid got to pick out a book from the library and have their picture inside.

Their book was dedicated to them for finishing the program.

Norah and Silas both had fun reading and earning all the prizes as they went along. Seth and I also loved it because we got to spend time with our kids and can see how much they love reading.
