Twin Cities Weekend

This past weekend the kids and I headed to the Twin Cities for the burial of our sweet loving Great and Great- Great Grandpa, Papa Charley Loucks. We were very sad, but we are thankful that because of Christ we will see him again in heaven. We stayed for the entire weekend to spend more time with Grandma Beth.

The kids and I were so happy to see Grandpa Dean and Granny.

Grandma took us to the Mall of America, where we went to the Sea Life Aquarium.

I think all of our favorite part was walking through the tunnels where the tank went up and around you.

Silas loved watching the sharks.

Norah's favorite was the sea turtles.

After a yummy supper at the Rainforest CafĂ©, we checked out the Lego store and the big sculptures made only of Legos.

Each kid also got to go on a ride. Norah chose a roller coaster. She loved it!

Silas got to ride with Grandma on a Swiper Car.

Lucy rode on the Azul Train.

Thank you Grandma for an amazing time. We love you and miss you already.

1st Day of Preschool

Ever since Norah and Seth started school, Silas has been asking when his first day was. He was even making sure not to wear his new shoes till the first day so that they would stay nice. He was very excited about going and playing with the toys and meeting new friends.

Dobogai Memorial Run 2014

Again this year Seth and the kids participated in the Derick Dobogai Memorial Run in Fond du Lac. Seth and Ruby ran a 5k and the big kids did a 1/4 mile. It is so fun to do and it's great supporting a great cause.

Starting the race.

The kids enjoyed face painting while daddy ran.

They also got a super close look at the Flight for Life Helicopter.

Finishing strong.

Getting ready to start.

Both kids were excited to finish and get a goody bag.

Seth finished 2nd in his age group and Ruby won first place in the dog competition. I couldn't be more proud.

First Day of School

Norah had been counting down the summer days until school was starting. She was so excited for 1st grade. One of the things she was really looking forward to was eating lunch at school. We can't wait for a great year.

The New Zoo

After Seth's bike race, the kids and I went to the New Zoo in Green Bay, WI with Grandma Joyce and the Appleton Jaegers. We always have fun at the zoo but it is even more exciting to go to one we haven't been to before. It was a beautiful time with great people.

Petting Rollie the armadillo.

The little otter decided to show off for us.

The kids really enjoyed feeding the giraffes. It was so cool to see them up close.

Feeling the speed of the winds in Africa.

Lucy wasn't too sure about feeding the animals.

Thank you for a great time Grandma Joyce!
