Enjoying Summer

Now that summer is here we are taking advantage of the warm weather. We try to be outside for walks to just to play. I had to run to the store this morning, and this is what daddy had fun doing with Norah while I was gone. Needless to say, Norah couldn't get enough.

Norah is also getting used to using sliverware. We still get really messy, but she enjoys it.

The Weekend That Would Never End

This past Memorial day weekend we headed down to southern Wisconsin for a wedding and to visit with family. Many things (good and bad) made it an "eventful" weekend. We drove down Thursday night because the wedding was on Friday. And of course, less than a mile from the Jaegers in Johnson Creek, Cash gets sick in the car. Yuck! We found out the hard way the some of the school kids didn't pick up all the broken water balloons. But we did make it safe and sound.
Friday was the wedding of our friends Andy and Julia Haasch. It was at the Botanical Gardens in Madison. It was a beautiful place and Norah was an excellent little girl during the ceremony.

Norah got to sit in the shade during the service.

She was ready for Grandma Joyce to pick her up at this point.

Saturday and Sunday we set aside time to visit with family and friends. But I guess I wanted to make things interesting. On Sunday I wasn't feeling the best, and by the early evening I knew I needed to see a doctor. Well, after getting to the ER at 7:45pm on Sunday, I was finally able to leave on Tuesday morning with the doctors stumped. A hospital stay wasn't really what I wanted to do on my weekend away, but you can't plan everything. Don't worry I'm doing fine. I went to the doctor again today and my doctor thinks it was gastroenteritis, with a side helping of some hives. I'm thankful to be all better and praying I don't ever have to go through that again.

Finally we started heading home on Tuesday afternoon with one stop in the Wisconsin Dells to stretch our legs. Norah wanted to walk a little too. We had to get home because Cash had an "event" planned with his doctor on Wednesday. Bob Barker would be proud! Although when he got home he was still feeling the pain he got a Certificate of Bravery from the vet. A lot happened this weekend that was fun, but I am sure glad that it's over.

This is all he did for the rest of the day, but I guess you can't blame him.

Exploring New Things

After Norah's birthday things were pretty calm. She has lots of fun playing with her new toys.

A little while ago the volunteer fire department in town opened it's doors for the area school. So our school went for a look. Also the Mayo Clinic helicopter flew in for the event. So Norah and I tagged along.

Birthday Chair

As a gift from Grandma Beth and Grandpa Berg, Norah got a new chair. Unfortunately for us, Norah is the only one who can use it.

Norah's First Birthday!!

After the really exciting day with the party, it was nice to have Norah's actual birthday a little quieter. We spent the day playing with new toys and opening her gifts from Mommy and Daddy. We then went out to dinner to celebrate the birthday and Mother's day. We had a lot of fun and I feel lucky to have a one year old and to have had two Mother's Days.

Helping daddy put together a new toy.
Having fun coloring at the restaurant.

Norah is truly relaxed in her new car seat on the way home.

Birthday Party!!!

We had a lot of fun this weekend with Mother's Day and Norah's birthday. On Friday our friends the Lauers, Jenni, Kevin and Hayden, came over to visit. Ben, Susie and Henry came on Friday as well. It was so nice to see the Lauers because we haven't seen them in a while. Norah was very interested in Hayden. She gave her a hug and tried to touch her head repeatedly (and of course scratching everytime she tried).

Saturday was a fun day. Norah's 1st birthday party was a success. We had pizza and cake for lunch. As you can see from the pictures Norah loved her cake. We even got to sing the happy birthday song twice, one for Norah and one for Grandma Braasch. It was her birthday that day. So she got to blow out a candle too. Once Norah opened all here awesome gifts and said goodbye to everyone she went down for a well needed nap. She partied hard, and napped hard. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful gifts and to those who made the trip to celebrate with us. We have great family and friends.
