Lucy's Heart

As many of you know Lucy was born with an irregular heartbeat and two very small holes in her heart. The doctor's detected it about a week before she was born. We've had lots of extra doctor visits before and after she was born. Thankfully it looks like the extra heartbeats seem to be correcting themselves and the cardiologist says she's never seen holes that small cause any problems. There is a good possibility that they will close on their own.

Before we left the hospital, Lucy had to have a halter monitor put on so the doctors could watch her heart for a full 24 hours. We felt so bad that she had to wear it. She was such a trooper.

Lucy with her "remote control."

She did so well. But it was nice she only had to have it on for 24 hours and not 48.

After the stickers came off. hankfully it didn't take long for the redness to go away.

Happy Birthday Lucy!

On Wednesday November 28, we welcomed our little girl into the world. Lucy Leigh Jaeger was born at 3:36am weighing 8 pounds 7 ounces and was 20 inches long. We were blessed with a quick and easy delivery. She decided we wanted to come one day before I was scheduled to be insduced. But we are so happy that she came when she did. Lucy is such a blessing.

Norah and Silas were so excited to meet Lucy. They were all smiles when they came to the hospital. Norah asked to hold her right away so then Silas did too.

Silas loved giving Lucy kisses in the hospital and he still does now that she's at home.

Norah is already a great big sister, and now she can't wait to teach Lucy things as she gets bigger.

Lucy was such a good girl in the hospital.

All the girls.

Grandma Joyce was able to meet Lucy in the hospital and was also a giant help by watching Silas and Norah for us.

We were able to take Lucy home on Friday. I especially was glad to be going home to be with our new family of 5.

Feeding the Family

Seth got his first deer of the season. He was invited to hunt with our brother-in-lae Dusty on his land. That weekend they saw a ton of does. Seth waited till the very end to see if he could see one of the big bucks Dusty has on his land, but since he didn't he shot this doe that was hanging out in front on him for about a half an hour. Now we have a bunch of meat in our freezer waiting to be processed.

The Final Countdown

All the Jaegers are getting excited for our new little baby girl to arrive. We've been setting up the crib (well, with the crib, when I say "we" I mean Seth), washing baby clothes, buying diapers, and getting other baby gear ready. We're hoping these last few weeks go by quicky so we can introduce you to our latest family member.

Trick-or-Treat

Happy Halloween! (a few days early) In our area Trick-or-Treating is always on a Sunday. So the kids got to go today. They were both very excited to get dressed up in their costumes and go.

Silas the cowboy.

Norah the "mean" witch.

We had a fun time but got a little chilly at the end.

Silas really enjoyed it after he saw all the candy he was getting.

Enjoying some of his candy. Once Silas finished his treat, he went right back to his bucket for more. He was pretty sad when mom said no.

Norah was a little cold when we got back but was happy when she got to pick out a piece of candy.

Seth and I had fun taking the kids out and watching them have a blast. We are enjoying the years when they say their finished after about 30 minutes and we get to raid the candy after they go to bed!

Carving Away

The past few weeks here have been pretty laid back, which is nice. Seth is done with his football season and Norah is still loving school. Silas and I are good too. He asks me a lot if the baby is coming out and I have to tell him not yet each time. I am 34 weeks nowand feeling good. We all are looking forward to when our little girl is born.

The kids had fun giving Cash special treats on his birthday. Cash is now 4 with lots of puppy left in him.

Yesterday we decided to carve our pumpkins so they are ready for Trick or Treating on Sunday. Each of the kids picked the shapes of their faces. Silas wanted his to be sad. He aslo loved getting all the pumpkin guts out.

Norah wanted hers to look mean. She only lasted about 2 minutes on cleaning out the insides of the pumpkin. She didn't want her hands to get all dirty, which is normal for her.

My favorite part of her pumpkin is the eyebrows. She said they make it look extra mean. Norah also did most of the drawing of the shapes of the face.

They are very proud of all of their hard work.

The most exciting part was lighting the candles. Silas loved blowing out the candle when we went inside. He was singing Happy Birthday while he was doing it.

Jesus Loves Me

This is one of Silas' favorite songs to sing. And of course, we love it when he sings it too.
