Who's Wants Bear Meat?

Seth had been waiting for about 6 years to be able to hunt a black bear. This year he finally got his license. He went up to Bloomer and hunted there. On Sunday the 22, he finally had a bear come in that didn't have cubs with it and got it with one shot. He was so excited and we were excited for him too. It is a female and he think it weighed about 225-250 pounds. So if anyone has any good bear recipes, pass them on.

The successful hunter.

Silas and Norah were both excited to see the bear. There was no way Norah was going to touch it. Silas thought it was cool and had fun petting it.

Her hands.

A foot.

Big Teeth!

Seth is getting a partial mount done. So when it is finished (which will be a while) we'll post a picture.

9 Month Old Lucy

Little Lucy is 9 1/2 months old. It is so much fun watching her take everything in. She has been trying more new finger foods, but seems to be a little picky with them. She is sleeping great at night and takes two good naps a day. She is pulling herself up to standing on anything she can and is pretty good and standing there too. One new thing she can do is clapping. She'll hear music or other people clapping and she'll start right up. She is so proud of herself and gets a big grin while doing it.
We need to brake out the baby gates because Lucy is mobile! She scoots/crawls around. She loves being able to get Norah and Silas' toys. Thankfully she's not too fast yet so we can keep up with her.

Enjoying spaghetti.

Having fun clapping.

Silas' First Day of School

Our little boy is growing up. Silas started 3 year old preschool! He was very excited to go to school just like Norah. He goes two mornings a week. He is one of 18 3 year olds in his class. After his first day he told me, "Mommy, I had fun." and "I was a good boy." He has been asking every morning if he gets to go to school that day and if he does have school he'll say, "I wonder what we'll have for snack." It's fun to see him learn and watch his little personality come out more and more.

Bay Beach in Green Bay

Over Labor day weekend, we joined the Appleton Jaegers to Bay Beach amusement park in Green Bay. It's a fun little park with lots of kid rides. We had beautiful weather and we all had fun going on the rides.

Riding the train.

We joked that only in WI would you have a kid ride with guns on them, while the kids are facing other children and you hear all the parents yelling, "Shoot him! Shoot that other kid!"

On the Ferris Wheel.

Our view from the top.

Although Lucy only got to ride the train, she had fun and was a sweet little girl the entire time.

It was a fun place to visit and the kids are already looking forward to going again.

Derek Dogobai Memorial Run

On August 30, Seth ran in a 5K at WLA. It was the Derek Dogobai Memorial Run. He was a former WLA graduate who died while serving in Iraq. Part of the funds raised go to the WLA track program and the other go to a military charity.

During the race, the Flight for Life helicopter landed on the football field. The kids got to go up close and go inside.

After the adult races, they had kid races. Norah and Silas got to run an entire lap around the track, or 1/4 mile.

They both ran the eitre way and didn't stop. It made up smile that they started out in the far outside and lane and stayed in that lane the entire time.

They got a ribbon and a goody bag when they were all done. It was a fun day helping out a good cause.

Lucy and Silas

While Norah's at school everyday, Silas, Lucy and I have fun playing at home.

While Lucy is taking her morning nap, Silas and I get a lot of fun one on one time. We play and I also like to get in some learning while I can. In these pictures, Silas is showing off how he wrote his name.

Silas is also enjoying singing a lot more lately.

Frist Day of School

On August 22, Norah had her first day of Kindergarten! She has been very excited all summer. She went into the room and fit right in. Each day she'll will tell us about her day and what she did. One other thing new with Norah is that she is reading. She has been picking out words here and there for a while, but now she will actually read books. It's fun to see her sit down all by herself and start reading away. She'll even read to Silas and Lucy. Norah is 5 and growing up too fast.
