Timber Part 2

On Wednesday we had another tree casalty. We had our pear tree cut down. Although we loved being able to eat they yummy pear, the bees were just horrible. We couldn't play outside with the kids and you had to even be careful getting in and out of the car. We'll probably miss the shade at times this summer, but it was worth it in the long run.

The Before. You can just picture all the thousands of pears and bees.

We all had fun watching the big truck and the workers.

And it begins.

It really doesn't take long to trim down a tree.

And before you know it, it's a truck.

Removing the stump.

The After.

Late Night Adventures

Our little Norah has had trouble falling asleep lately. So , she's been getting in trouble by getting out of bed and goofing around. The other night topped the cake when I heard her out of her bed at 9:45pm. So I went upstairs and caught her climbing back into her bed. As I was tucking her back in I noticed something on her face and I couldn't wipe it off. So I turn on the light and I see this little face and band-aids on her hands. Someone was playing in the bathroom and mommy's make-up. I couldn't keep a straight face. I had to go down stairs and get Seth to show him and grab my camera. Norah felt really bad about it and also about getting caught. I don't think she'll try my make-up on again with out me. Poor little Norah.

Timber!

We've have been pretty busy around the house while Seth was on Spring Break this past week. We finished out last big painting project and we cut down three pine trees in the back yard. They were nice trees but they were right in the middle of the lawn. I don't know why they were planted there and not the edge of the property line, we'll never know. But now the back yard is nice and open and it seems a lot bigger too. Within the next week and a half we have a company coming in to take out the stumps and also the bee crazy pear tree. It will be a completely different yard come summer time.

This is a picture of the yard with the trees from last year when we closed on the house. We forgot to take a picture before Seth started.

One down.

View from behind, at the back of the property line.

Seth cut the trees down and I hauled most of the branches to Seth's truck so we could take them to the brush pile in town.

Two down.

Taking a break to have some popsicles on the warm day.

One on the many loads to the brush pile.

Having fun with the flowers from the yard.

Three down.

We were very happy that we were able to get all of them down and the area cleaned up in one day. Once the stumps are removed then we will be able to plant some more grass. We'll end up putting something along the property line to give a little privacy in the back. Overall, we are very happy we were able to get it done to give Norah, Silas and Cash more room to run.

First Fishing of the Year

We have been having beautiful weather lately. We've been outside a lot enjoying it.. Yesterday Norah wanted to go fishing. So Seth took her to the little creek in our backyard to see if they could catch her first fish. They were successful! They ended up catching about 10 fish in all in their little 30 minute trip. Silas and I were able to watch and enjoy the fun too.

Getting to watch. Silas wasn't too sure what to think.

Norah got her first fish. It was pretty small but she was very excited.

So proud of her fish. She was even telling us that we should have fish for supper after this.

Learning that there isn't always success in fishing.

Norah catching another fish. Silas wasn't sure what to think about it.

Silas and I took a little walk around the house and looked at all our flowers that are popping up.

Norah showing off her sun fish.

Getting to touch the fish.

Norah's Talent Show

On Sunday Norah's school had a talent show. The 3 and 4 year old preschool classes got to sing a couple songs at it. Norah was so excited to sing in her "show." She did a great job. It's fun to see her up there singing. She seemed like such a big girl up there. We are so happy we were able to go, and that the entire show was under 45 minutes :)

I was able to record two of the songs to share with everyone.

Sledding at Grandma Joyce and Papa's

A couple of weekends ago, we got to go sledding at the Jaegers in Johnson Creek. Norah was very excited to go. This was Silas' and their counsin Jack's first time sledding. They did really well, but they liked being pulled around in toddler sled more than going down the big hill. We were happy we were able to go sledding this year. We have hardly had any snow to do it (which I can't complain about either). We had a great time.

Ready to go down the hill. Silas did really well. He liked it, but was content with going down once or twice.

Jack going down with Seth. He didn't hate it, but he didn't love it either.

Norah and I had lots of fun going down the hill together.

Snow angels with Grandma.

When we were almost finished, Seth decided to show Norah what he used to do when he was little, a Lambeau Leap. Both kids had fun trying it for themselves.

One of Norah's many turns leaping.

Silas wanted to get in on it too.
